Red Sox Coming Out Strong:

After the trade with Boston Red Sox catcher Jarod Saltalamacchia to the Miami Marlins, the Sox drafted catcher A.J Pierzynski to lead the group into battle. Pierzynski will take over as the Boston Red Sox number 1 catcher this upcoming 2014 season. He signed for a one-year, $8.25 millions contract for the 2014 season. Backup catcher David Ross is on his final season with Boston unless he gets another signing deal. His contract is a two year deal worth $6.2 million dollars, but both catchers will be 37 years old going into opening day at Fenway Park.

Manager John Farrell has a third string catcher, Ryan Lavarnway, which looks like he is not being traded and they will keep this young kid for the future. Everyone wonders what they have left inside them and if it will help or hurt the defending champions, The Boston Red Sox. They will be coming out of the gate swingning and ready to go back to the playoffs in October. They started spring training with two wins over Boston College and Northeastern. The Sox staring lineup was,

1. Grady Sizemore, LF
2. Dustin Pedroia, 2B
3. David Ortiz, DH
4. Mike Nappoli, 1B
5. Jonny Gomes, RF
6. Xander Bogaerts, SS
7. Will Middlebrooks, 3B
8. Ryan Lavarnway, C
9. Jackie Bradley Jr., CF
SP-- Brandon Workman, P

Now thats a solid lineup! I'm thinking, and I know all of the Boston Red Sox fans are too, that we NEED another championship to prove that is wasn't just luck to go from worst to first, it was the skill and bond between the brothers. They won their third championship in 10 years and this has to be my favorite year. All the beards made the team come closer, and realize what they are working for. I went to a game with my brother and it was Beard Day at Fenway Park, if you had a beard you got in for a dollar. It could be fake, drawn on, or an actual beard. Seeing everyone at  Fenway wearing beards and going along with the spirit of the Red Sox orginization was the key factor in the 2013 World Series win!

Derek Jeter

Sorry about my last post, it really didn't work. I fixed it now, but comment and tell me what you think about Derek Jeter retiring!

Yankee's down, Red Sox up!

How do you feel about Derek Jeter retiring after the 2014 season?

Jeter said to reporters,"The 2014 season will be my last year playing professional baseball," the longtime New York Yankee shortstop and captain will be playing in his last season this year. Is the New York Yankee not good anymore, or is it just because of the injuries? Jeter played in just 17 games and hit a career-low .190 with one home run and seven RBIs. I think it's time for the legend to retire. What is happening to the Yankees with Jeter hurt and now retiring, and Alex Rodriguez getting caught with performance enhancing drugs. The Yankee squad was 12.0 games out of first place and came in fourth in the 2013 season. They finished with 85 wins and 77 losses, I wonder if they will be good in 2014. The defending Champions, the Boston Red Sox, will be coming out of the gate and ready to play. David Ortiz is one of the greatest players in the MLB and was the MVP in the run to the World Series. Now what do you think about the Yankee's upcoming season?

Freshman Makes His Pitch

"Freshman Makes His Pitch" is the title of an article in the Boston Globe about me. The game ended with a 2-1 win over Winchester. Here is how it started. I was on the mound in the beginning of the first and the first batter grounded out, the second batter hit a SHOT over center field to make the game 1-0. I was a little nervous as the batter was rounding the bases, but I was laughing a little because I thought the game was going to be awful. But this game ended with the greatest game I have ever pitched in my life! I only let up 2 hits in the first inning as I slowly walked back to the bench for my team to hit in the bottom of the first. We tied it up with a double in the gap to make the score 1-1. In the top of the second inning I let up a hit, but then retired the next 24 batters in a row. I only threw a three hitter the entire game through 8 innings. This game went into extra innings, we only play 7 innings in High School, but because both teams were fighting for the win we went into extras.

Remember that I was only 14 years old, when I was pitching this game. I hopped over the the third base foul line to reach the mound in the top of the 8th inning. I struck out the side and had a 1,2,3 inning. My team got up in the bottom of the inning and my teammate hits a walk off single to win the game, we went crazy!!! Everybody congratulated me because I pitched an outstanding game. I pitched 8 full innings and only threw 71 pitches, which means I averaged about 8 pitches an inning. I struck out 11 batters but my team had my back through the entire game. I had a coach from Clemson University in South Carolina come to watch that game. Winning that game was the best feeling of my life!!
