About Me

Frustration at its finest.

Now what makes me so mad is when people say that baseball is easy. They only think that all you do is run 90 feet to bases, and all a pitcher does it throw the ball to a catcher. But its way more than that!!! Being a pitcher takes a lot of mind set and preparation before the game. You go over what pitches to throw and situations you may be in. Now if people think that its so easy say I bet all the money that whoever says its easy and pointless wont be able to stand up and hit a 95mph fastball. I read something the other day and it said,"Take any baseball player and put him with another sport and he will complete. But take any other sports player and put him up against a 95mph fastball and he will fail". Now thats something I will never forget! People will say its so boring but it really never is. You don't just stand around and wait for the ball to come to you, you have to do the right thing at the right time. Taking one extra step could make the difference in a baseball game, either win or lose. When game day comes and I am taking the mound I get very quiet in school. I prepare mentally and physically, I run through everything and get all my pitches down with everything I am going to throw. So its not that easy to play baseball. Yes you run bases and stand around but its much more than that! Ask ANYONE who plays baseball if baseball is easy, and the sure answer is NO. What you you people think?

Red Sox Ace!

You cant say anything bad about the Red Sox Ace Jon Lester.  By the time he was 24, Lester had thrown a no-hitter, helped win a World Series, and beaten cancer. He has been through so much with cancer, I cant believe he is still standing as strong as he is now and he is doing better than he ever has. Red Sox manager, John Farrell, told Lester and the Sox media that he will be the starting pitcher opening day. Now thats a great feeling knowing that he will be opening up the 2014 season hopefully with a strong start. Jon Lester is a man of his own, he goes around and helps out kids who have suffered from or still have cancer. Because he fought it and doesn't have it anymore does not stop him from going around to other littler kids and make there life more happy. Now all the Boston fans are hoping for another unforgettable season by the players and we all think that no matter what, win or lose, we all will be happy with the outcome. If they won again this year, and they have the ability to do it. Yes, it comes with luck so games, but its the skill and work that they put into it to win the city another trophy. The biggest key to winning is the hitting aspect of the game. If nobody can hit then its putting the pitcher in a deeper hole and makes him more frustrated, I know that from experience. We all wonder who is going to play what position. Personally I think that it would be nice to play the youngster Jackie Bradley Jr. So we shall find out and see when the Boston Red Sox come back to Boston and make there home opener!

Opening Day!

My brother and I always go to opening day for the Boston Red Sox! I remember that every opening day game at Fenway Park Dustin Pedroia, Red Sox second baseman, always hit a homerun the first game. Thai opening day will be a special day because of the Boston Marathon last year and the losses of the two firemen who died fighting a fire in the city of Boston. I can't wait to spend my day at Fenway Park where I want my dreams to be accomplished. My brother always buys Sox tickets and I've already bought tickets for four games. My opening day game is coming up soon on April 4th and I can't wait to defend our Middlesex League Division title. Boston Red Sox will be coming out strong, Boston Strong, and will represent the city of Boston by defending the World Series Championship title this year. Nobody was expecting them to win last year and they did, so anything can happen this year. The New York Yankees were suppose to come in first place last year and and the Red Sox were suppose to come in last. Everything flipped around when the Sox players came alive and bonded as a family. The Yankees ended the season last year in last place and at the bottom of the chart, while the Red came out strong and won the World Series. I can't wait for the season to start and the war weather to come along. My Varsity team won't be able to get outside in a while because its freezing and snow is on the baseball field. Our first time going outside will possibly be our first regular season game. My team was suppose to go to the Cape for a tournament this weekend but they got 8 inches of snow, that plan did not work out as planned. The best thing about Boston is tat they take pride in everything they do. Last night at the Bruins game they wore hats that had the Boston Fire Department during their warmups on the ice. Boston sports are the best sports to watch out of every team!!! #BostonStrong

Are You Ready?

I'm going to write about baseball, then I will take the time out to talk about the men and women fighting for the United States of America.

ARE YOU READY?
Those three words I will never forget. "Are you ready" are the wise words my brother asked me before I hopped over the white foul line to the pitchers mound. This was a 3:30pm game against Woburn and I was prepared to go pitch if the kid before me was struggling. My friend had let up two runs and they kept getting hits. After the second inning my coach walked over to me when my team was at bat he said,"Get warmed up". After throwing 15 pitches to my catcher, I was ready to go out and pitch my first varsity game for Burlington High. When I was warming up I felt great but then the batter walked up to the plate and i started to get nervous. I was thinking," What if I don't do well, what if I let my team down, I'm ready to go and pitch a great game". The first kid popped out, then I walked the next two batters. I stepped off the mound and looked over at my mom and she was so scared her hand were covering her mouth. I looked over at my brother and he told me that I'm leaning back to much which is making my ball go high. I gave him a thumbs up and stepped back onto the mound, I'm ready to pitch a game I'd never forget. I got out of the inning letting up no runs and no hits with two walks. I started out nervous but I settled down. I pitched 5 innings letting up 2 runs and 5 hits. We won the game 9-4, my teammates, parents, coaches, and my brother congratulated me on my first ever varsity win as a freshman. My coach got interviewed about me pitching and he said to the newspaper,"I know he's a great pitcher so I had faith in him. I could tell he was nervous in the beginning but he settled down and won us this ball game". I will never forget this game because it was my first ever game for my high school and I knew this was were my career began.

Lone Survivor
If you have not seen this movie then you're missing out! Lone Survivor is an unbelievable movie and it takes place in the mountains of Afghanistan. It was really touching to me because my brother is a United State Marine and he was in Afghanistan where they were. Lets all give thanks to the men and women fighting for our freedom. They know that they may die during battle but they do it anyways. They leave behind friends and family to go over seas and fight for our country. I give them all my prayers while they are over seas. Lone Survivor is an unbelievable story about five men who go into Afghanistan and only one of them comes back home. A plane full of Navy Seals go to try and help them while they were in a gun battle with the enemy. The plane got blown up when they were trying to land. In the movie four men go get dropped off in the mountains but in this picture there are six men. All of them died but one!

Red Sox Coming Out Strong:

After the trade with Boston Red Sox catcher Jarod Saltalamacchia to the Miami Marlins, the Sox drafted catcher A.J Pierzynski to lead the group into battle. Pierzynski will take over as the Boston Red Sox number 1 catcher this upcoming 2014 season. He signed for a one-year, $8.25 millions contract for the 2014 season. Backup catcher David Ross is on his final season with Boston unless he gets another signing deal. His contract is a two year deal worth $6.2 million dollars, but both catchers will be 37 years old going into opening day at Fenway Park.

Manager John Farrell has a third string catcher, Ryan Lavarnway, which looks like he is not being traded and they will keep this young kid for the future. Everyone wonders what they have left inside them and if it will help or hurt the defending champions, The Boston Red Sox. They will be coming out of the gate swingning and ready to go back to the playoffs in October. They started spring training with two wins over Boston College and Northeastern. The Sox staring lineup was,

1. Grady Sizemore, LF
2. Dustin Pedroia, 2B
3. David Ortiz, DH
4. Mike Nappoli, 1B
5. Jonny Gomes, RF
6. Xander Bogaerts, SS
7. Will Middlebrooks, 3B
8. Ryan Lavarnway, C
9. Jackie Bradley Jr., CF
SP-- Brandon Workman, P

Now thats a solid lineup! I'm thinking, and I know all of the Boston Red Sox fans are too, that we NEED another championship to prove that is wasn't just luck to go from worst to first, it was the skill and bond between the brothers. They won their third championship in 10 years and this has to be my favorite year. All the beards made the team come closer, and realize what they are working for. I went to a game with my brother and it was Beard Day at Fenway Park, if you had a beard you got in for a dollar. It could be fake, drawn on, or an actual beard. Seeing everyone at  Fenway wearing beards and going along with the spirit of the Red Sox orginization was the key factor in the 2013 World Series win!

Derek Jeter

Sorry about my last post, it really didn't work. I fixed it now, but comment and tell me what you think about Derek Jeter retiring!

Yankee's down, Red Sox up!

How do you feel about Derek Jeter retiring after the 2014 season?

Jeter said to reporters,"The 2014 season will be my last year playing professional baseball," the longtime New York Yankee shortstop and captain will be playing in his last season this year. Is the New York Yankee not good anymore, or is it just because of the injuries? Jeter played in just 17 games and hit a career-low .190 with one home run and seven RBIs. I think it's time for the legend to retire. What is happening to the Yankees with Jeter hurt and now retiring, and Alex Rodriguez getting caught with performance enhancing drugs. The Yankee squad was 12.0 games out of first place and came in fourth in the 2013 season. They finished with 85 wins and 77 losses, I wonder if they will be good in 2014. The defending Champions, the Boston Red Sox, will be coming out of the gate and ready to play. David Ortiz is one of the greatest players in the MLB and was the MVP in the run to the World Series. Now what do you think about the Yankee's upcoming season?
